Mt Assisi Comprehensive Communications Project
The Saint Francis Friars at Mount Assisi located in Loretto, Pennsylvania wanted to preserve their historic photographs and record a history of the grounds that only a few of their older members k Plans were under way for a major renovation at the former Schwab Estate, now called Mount Assisi. It was a good time to document the facility’s history. The Provincial governance was eager to preserve the aging monk’s memories and documenting their presence in Loretto.
The first target of our project was the archives, which were damaged and not very well organized. Photographs from the original Schwab architect needed to be cataloged and preserved. We created a digital image library and database to organize the historic photos, slides, drawings, and newspaper clippings. We produced an interactive CD-ROM to tell the stories of the past and share the beauty of the grounds that make up Mt. Assisi.
Another aspect of the project includes the comprehensive design and layout for a new heritage room display. This display features select images from the archives that detailed the story of the Franciscan Friars at Loretto. It includes; a cabinetry design that matches the elegant reception room of Alvernia Hall, the selection of images, the layout of display panels and writing the narrative history of the Province. If you have valuable historic documents and want to tell your story using today’s technology, contact us for a consultation meeting.
